  • I was diagnosed at 34 in March 2012. I had bi- lateral mastectomy, 16 rounds ACT chemo. This was taken January 2013, I was rediagnosed December 31, 2013. I have had ovaries removed to reduce estrogen and had tumor removed from chest that invaded muscle and all axillary nodes. I just keep praying and hoping this is it. I started radiation one week ago. I will not give up, though it is tough and very painful at times." Here's to Erin -let's all send strength her way! Click here to connect with her on IHC. Click here to see the Facebook post.

Recent Discussion Questions (Ask anything you want on our discussion board.)

  • After having a hysterectomy in January,I was diagnosed with having endometrial cancer grade 2 stage 3. My first visit to the hospital the consultant discussed radiotherapy with me, and said that "chemotherapy had not yet been decided, then another doctor came in and said " because the ovaries have been involved, I would need chemotherapy, and it would be a treatment of 6 over 5 months. Today I went for my 4th treatment of radiotherapy, and had to see the oncologist there for a weekly check (my first) and she asked me if I was having chemotherapy, and I told her that I was, and she then looked again at my notes and said " well it says here its still to be decided." Have any of you here, not had chemo for endometrial cancer ? I am very confused. Please let me know if anyone has had the same experience. I feel so stressed that I don't have an answer from the doctors. With thanks Gaynor. Xx Click here to answer.
  • I have been in remission for 20 months and I still feel the need to talk about my experiences with cancer, but I feel as though my friends don't want to hear it about it anymore. (I try not to ever bring it up because of that) I feel as though everyone thinks that the day chemo ended I should have "moved on" and should be "over it." Does anyone else feel that they can't talk to their friends or family? Click here to answer

  • Dear Cancer, I want to break up. It's not me, it's you. You keep wanting to get back together and for whatever reason, my body lets you. Well I'm done, I'm sick of all the game playing and I'm sick of you messing with my mind. I wish I could say that my relationship with you has made me stronger, braver, more courageous, but I just don't know anymore. Now that you're trying to get back together only bad feelings come up. You have made me more insecure about myself, you've made me sad, and I have shed too many tears because of you. You not only affect me, you have widespread effects on people I love and care about. They don't even know what to say anymore; you leave a train of destruction and pain. It may surprise you but I love my life, and yes, thank you for opening my eyes and my heart constantly to the blessings around me. Are you trying to teach me something? Is there a lesson to learn? Well I got it, I'm good, so please stop showing up. Don't underestimate me, I am not going down. So here we are at another crossroads. Are you back to taunt me again? Will you ever leave me alone? Hate is a strong word that I never use, but I'm beginning to hate you. You have broken my heart over and over, but I will not let you break my spirit. Anna Click here to comment
