- Dear Cancer, I can now say your name when before I could only refer to you as the “C Word”. You have made me focus more on the light & living in the moment. I look at each day and year as a BONUS! I am still coming to terms with my new bod, scars, side effect weight gain and joint pain... vanity is a Bitch! Then again, just this week, I learned 40,000 pass a year due to breast cancer. I plan to live each day as a blessing and as an advocate of meditation which has carried me thought besides the knowledgeable and trusted advisors. - "In 2007 I was diagnosed stage III Hodgkin's Lymphoma at age 23. My then boyfriend proposed to me the day I shaved my head because my hair was falling out.We were married 8 months after treatment. Because of my amazing oncologist I was able to: finish college, go to grad school, start a business, get married, and have a beautiful baby boy who is now 3 (not in that order).
